AI Win Rate

When customers ask AI what to buy, does it choose you?

Customers now ask ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, and agents such as Meta's Muse, OpenAI's Dots and Instinct, to compare the options and recommend one. Only one brand wins that recommendation. AIVO measures how often it is yours, shows which competitor wins when it isn't, and fixes the reasons you lose. Built for high-consideration purchases, where buyers question AI before they buy.

A first test is about $45: real AI agents on the assistants you choose, results in about 15 minutes, with competitor displacement and a fix for each loss. What's included

How a brand loses an AI recommendationAn example multi-turn conversation. At turn 1 the assistant names five banks including yours. At turn 3, after a follow-up about fees, three remain. At turn 5, asked to choose, it recommends a competitor and your bank drops out.TURN 1“Which bank should my business use?”Your bankBank ABank BBank CBank DTURN 3“Which has the lowest fees for 10 staff?”Your bankBank ABank BTURN 5“Which one should I open?”Bank A · RecommendedYour bank← Mentioned, not chosen
One buying conversation, simplified. AIVO runs hundreds like it across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity. Your AI Win Rate is the share you win; the report shows who wins the rest, at which turn, and why.

01 Evidence

Why recommendation matters

  • Customers act on recommendations, not mentions.
  • In high-consideration purchases, from cars and travel to banking and business software, buyers question AI over several turns before they decide. Brands named at the start are often gone by the end.
  • AI doesn't just answer questions. It increasingly narrows customer choice.
  • If AI recommends your competitor instead of you, traditional brand tracking won't tell you.

Banking shows the gap

AIVO's study of how AI assistants recommend banks to US small businesses, reported by American Banker in September 2026, found a clear gap between the banks AI mentions and the banks it chooses.

A company that no longer exists, still being recommended

Silvercar stopped operating in September 2024. In AIVO's measurements, AI systems continued to recommend it above live competitors. What AI says at the moment of decision can drift far from reality, and most brands have no way of seeing it.

Across more than 250 brands, the pattern is the same: brands that are cited in an answer are frequently displaced by the time the AI is asked to decide.

What the gap costs

Revenue at Risk estimates how much revenue is exposed because AI recommends competitors instead of you. It multiplies the revenue in a category by the share of purchases AI now influences and by how often you are measured being displaced.

03 Governance

Governance and independence

A measurement is only useful if it can be trusted. These principles govern how the AIVO Standard relates to AIVO's commercial work.

  1. The methodology is public.Definitions, measurement rules and versions of the AIVO Standard are published, so others can inspect and reproduce them.
  2. Clients cannot influence scores.Commercial clients, including those in improvement programs, have no input into how their scores are calculated or reported.
  3. Changes are versioned.Any change to the methodology is documented and dated, and results are reported against a named version.
  4. Findings are published even when unwelcome.Research that challenges AIVO's commercial assumptions is published on the same terms as research that supports them.
  5. Independent review is sought.AIVO works with academic researchers who have no commercial stake in the company to test and replicate its findings.
